Quiz Time on Irish Golf Courses - The Answers/Winner

Connemara's exceptional par three 13th
Thanks for all the entries to my photo quiz on Irish Golf courses - some intriguing answers.

Several people thought the 1st was a photo of Connemara. With all the exposed rock I can see their rationale. It was The Heath, however, outside Portlaoise.

Only one person - Redhill - identified all 10 photographs. Here are his answers:

A nice collection of fotos Kevin,I think I know most, others have a few educated guesses
1) The Heath
2)The Island
3) Mount Wolseley, not too sure about this one, it looks like the 17th but I always remember a big blue house on the right, maybe it's the angle of the photo?
4) The European Club
5) Portstewart, hole 5, the "rifle range" the view from this teebox is probably one of the best in Irish golf, you will be pleased to know that a lot of work has being done at Portstewart (3 new tees & new bunkers) adding nearly 100 yards. The course is hosting qualifying for the British Amateur Championship next year
6) Carton House, can't remember the hole, but the bunker front left is the deepest on the course I think
7) think this is Castletroy
8) Slieve Russell, no 16, wouldn't have got this but for the clue even though I have played there 40 times plus & even got married there to boot
9) K Club Palmer
10)Think this is Bunclody, only other new courses I can think off are Concra Wood, Lough Erne,Farnham Estate& Killeen Castle, have played all these & it's not at any of them

Nicely done, Redhill. Get in touch (leave another comment) and some balls will be on their way to you.
