Atlantic Coast Challenge 2013 - 12 days left...

Teeing off on Enniscrone's 4th
There are 12 days left to enter one of Irish golf's great challenges. So why not make this the year to give it a lash. There are plenty of challenges to choose from, but this one has three of the most adventurous links courses to tempt you:

  • Carne
  • Enniscrone
  • Rosses Point

Each one is as brilliant as the next and you get to enjoy them between the 1st and 3rd of July (Mon-Wed). I've played in it for the last two years and, over the six rounds, I was rained on for no more than 15  minutes. I also got sunburnt.

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Grab two mates
  2. Shake them down for the paltry sum of €135 (or €120 if you choose the Enniscrone/Rosses Point/Carne rotation)
  3. Book the hotel - plenty to choose from: Diamond Coast in Enniscrone, Broadhaven Bay or the Talbot in Belmullet, or the Sligo Park or Glasshouse in Sligo
  4. Get practising

Oh, and if you're billy-no-mates, don't worry, there are usually slots for one or two people to team up with other similarly friend-free golfers.

Way up high on Rosses Point's par five 5th. Stunning views

2013 With a Difference

There are a few extras this year, one of which is that the top 10 teams after the first two days will be monitored. The last thing anyone wants is rumours of underhandedness marring the occasion. And speaking of 'occasion', the Diamond Coast Hotel is sponsoring the event and hosting the Prize Presentation at 9pm on Wednesday 3rd July (final day), followed by a complimentary BBQ for all competitors.

You'll find photos of all the courses here:
Carne
Enniscrone
Rosses Point/Co Sligo

Now that you've been tempted, why not book today. Check out the tee time availability - there are three rotations - and stick your name/s down for an Irish golf experience you won't forget.
