Irish Golf for Free. Play Bunclody on Sun June 9th

Approach to the 2nd hole
The next Inside The Ropes trip has been booked... and it's an Irish golfing gem.

Bunclody will be visited on Sunday, June 9th, with a 10.10am tee time. If you'd like to join me for a free round of golf, read on...

Bunclody is as sweet a new course as you could hope to find - and it is now part of the Carlow International Golf Classic (as blogged about a week or so ago). It is young and still growing into the landscape it calls home, but there is plenty of maturity about. Take a look at the photos and you'll see what I mean.

The tough par three 5th... not a lot of room if you miss the green
If you want to play on the 9th, here's what you need to know:

  • Your handicap is irrelevant.
  • You must be available to play and be at the course on time. Facilities are excellent so you may want to get there earlier.
  • No Bunclody members - sorry, this is for first time visitors.
  • You must be prepared to spend half an hour in the bar afterwards!

If you can make the tee time for sure, then add a Comment below (or on Boards.ie) and three names will be picked at 2pm, Friday 24th May.

The par three 7th, with the River Slaney right behind.

If you can't make the date, or you want to play the course at any other time, green fees are a mere €40 at weekends (Sunday) and €25 during the week. That's great value for some excellent Irish golf.
