Golf and Glasson's Sunday Special

The Glasson Golf Hotel is currently running a Sunday Special of 1 night's Dinner, Bed & Breakfast, and 2 rounds of golf (the 2nd comes with the compliments of the hotel) for the price of €125 pps.

Glasson’s driveway glides between big trees and above the course’s best holes which drift down to the edge of Killenure Bay… and one of the most stunning par threes in
Ireland. To reach the tee you must cross the lake’s edge via a wooden walkway… before playing a tee shot over the lake itself. It is all carry.
The famous par three 15th
The hotel at the end of the driveway offers a mighty fine golfing package, too. Indeed, it is designed very much with golfers in mind and the bedrooms are exceptional - you could probably set up your own little pitch and putt course for some evening entertainment. The expansive golf course was designed by Christy O’Connor Jr and opened in 1993. It sits between Lough Ree and Killenure Bay, and water is always in view. Glasson’s great strengths come from its swaying landscape and strong variety of holes, as evidenced by the par threes and the five par fives.

It is a big course (7,200+ yards from the back tees) so please choose your tees wisely.

Favourite Hole: the famous par three 15th, playing over the lake's mystical waters may be the hole everyone gushes about but, for me, the par four 13th is the hole of the round. It curls uphill and to the right, shadowing the driveway. Perfect position off the tee is required as bunkers litter the left. The green is lethal with a steep fall-off to the right. As soon as you drive in through the gates look left and down... that's the hole I'm talking about!

What's in the Bag? Score early – the closing holes can wreak havoc on your card.

Green Fees: €40-€50
