An Invitation to Play Adare - Open Day and Inside the Ropes

Adare Golf Club has offered me a fourball as part of my Inside The Ropes mission to introduce amateur golfers to some of Ireland’s best golf courses - and get their reviews.

This is the big, lazy Irish golf course that wraps around the Adare Manor Resort in Co. Limerick. Seriously, does it need any introduction! It has hosted the Irish Open, seen many of the biggest stars, such as Tiger Woods, walk its fairways and is regarded one of the very best courses on the island. It is also my favourite parkland.

I’ll be playing there on October 12th (see details below), but if you can’t wait that long to play this superb golf course, then take advantage of their Open Day next Sunday, June 30th. There’s still some availability and for €50 on a Sunday at peak season (normally €90), that’s a very generous green fee indeed.

Telephone the Pro Shop to make your booking (061 605200).

Richard Finch will be bringing his swimming trunks
the next time he visits!

Inside The Ropes – October, Saturday 12th, 2013

I’m looking for three volunteers to join me at Adare for a 9.00am tee time. As long as you haven’t played the course before, can swing a club and you enjoy the game, you’re welcome to throw your name in the hat. All you need to know is that you will be required to force yourself to spend time in the very comfortable bar afterwards, filling in a two page questionnaire. You will also get to play one of the most stunning back nines in the country.
