The par four 4th at St. Anne's |
It is always intriguing returning to a course you haven't played in a few years. I remember St. Anne's being a fairly flat and lifeless course. My review of this Irish links in
Hooked is hardly going to inspire travelling golfers to play here.
But things have changed and are continuing to change at St. Anne's, which is tucked away on Dublin's Bull Island, next door to the more highly regarded Royal Dublin.
Here are 11 photos to show off its charms.

The par five 1st at St. Anne's. Think birdie! |
The maintenance has improved, the greens are sharp and the little 'extras' are giving the course greater appeal to visitors and societies. I found it far better than my previous visits.
Here's a figure that will make clubs sit up and take notice... 70,000 rounds of golf were played here during 2015. Yes, 70,000. Not bad, eh!

There's an obvious joke about birdies on the 9th, but I doubt
the Brent Geese would appreciate it. |
