Well, there's little doubt that following Brexit and the slump in Sterling's value against the dollar, American golfers will be licking their lips at the prospect of a 15% discount (maybe more) in the cost of their golfing trip to the United Kingdom.

It is always intriguing returning to a course you haven't played in a few years. I remember St. Anne's being a fairly flat and lifeless course. My review of this Irish links in Hooked is hardly going to inspire travelling golfers to play here.

But things have changed and are continuing to change at St. Anne's, which is tucked away on Dublin's Bull Island, next door to the more highly regarded Royal Dublin.

Following the publication of Golf Digest Ireland's Top 100 Irish golf courses last week, there has been a considerable and negative reaction.

That is hardly surprising as the process this year was seriously undermined.

Panelists did not visit all the courses and, as someone who has been
