The Magnificent Six

Swans causing slow play at Rathfarnham... tsk!
It’s not often you get to visit six Irish golf courses in a day… the fact I was trying to make it to seven is beside the point… but needs must. And visiting Ireland’s finest is hardly a hardship. A 550 km tour from Wexford-Dublin-Baltray-Mullingar-Kinnegad-Dublin-Wexford.

Golf Job Opportunities... General Manager

You wait all day for a Manager to comer along... and then two come at once.

The par three 17th on Powerscourt's West course.
In recent years, clubs have been cutting back on staff and it has been surprising to see Secretary Managers/General Managers etc. being cut from the roster. This is especially true at country golf clubs where finances have shrunk drastically. So it is positive for the Irish golf industry that two well known clubs are now searching for fresh blood.

Powerscourt and Seapoint.

Ireland's Top Ten Hidden Golf Courses - No. 8

The 13th at Seapoint
Call them what you like, but Ireland has so many golf courses of the Fairways Less Travelled variety that it is difficult to pick a top ten... certainly without feeling bad about the clubs that don't quite make it... and there are many of those.

The 8th-ranked courses are:

Parkland: West Waterford
Links: Seapoint

For the 9th-ranked, click here
For the 10th-ranked, click here.

There are two free fourballs up for grabs at the end of this post - one for each club... and you can still win fourballs for the 9th and 10th ranked courses.
