The K Club Adds the Cherry on Top

Staff and guests form a 25 to celebrate quarter of a century
in business at the K Club.
It's been a good year for the K Club - Rory McIlroy winning the Irish Open in such thrilling and dramatic fashion helped to showcase the Palmer course as one of Ireland's top parklands - and it follows on from an investment of some €20 million in the past couple of years, which saw the addition of a new 70 bedroom hotel wing, a new restaurant and bar.

It's all made the resort's 25th anniversary celebrations rather easy... and what better way to celebrate than with a
cake. Not just any cake, either, this is an attention-to-detail replica hotel cake, commissioned from NF Cakes. Every little detail featured on the cake was edible, including the trees on the rolling terraces, the turreted facades, and the bow windows of the hotel. I say it 'was edible' because the cake has long gone... I did ask for a slice... who wouldn't!

The K Club became the very first 5 AA Red Star property in Ireland, and, over the years, it has reached many important milestones: it hosted 13 European Opens, the Ryder Cup in 2006, and this year's Irish Open.  It has also won countless accolades, most notably the CNN Top Ten Best Golf Resort in the World, the AA Hotel of the Year, and the Best Golf Resort for the last 12 years running in the Luxury World Travel Awards.
