Druid's Glen is Thriving

Approach over water on the Glen's par four 15th.
Druid’s Glen Resort continues to build its brand. With its high quality hotel, spa and leisure facilities it offers families everything they could ask for – Wicklow’s beaches are within easy reach, Glendalough is a pretty drive through the Wicklow Mountains, and it’s only 40 minutes from Dublin.

And then there’s the golf. How could you not love a course like Druid’s Glen, with its colour and intrigue… and all that water. The swans add a sense of peace, but you need to be playing well if you’re to avoid the water on the sparkling back nine (six holes feature water)… and an angry swan or two.

Views back down the par four 7th.
The second course – Druid’s Heath – is a more muscular affair. While I would play Druid’s Glen every day, I wouldn’t be able for that on the Heath course. You have to work for your score from the first to the last. If you play well and score well then it is a massive achievement on a course that gives nothing away easily. Heathland, parkland and links traits are all combined across rolling countryside. The course is, literally, right outside the front door of the hotel.

From the back of the hotel, on the rather pleasant outside deck where barbecues are often held, you can see over the Glen’s 13th hole (one of the best in the country)… so you’re surrounded by golf.
Views down the 13th, from the 12th tee. The hotel is out of sight,
but up to the right of this shot.
Here are two current offers currently being run at the resort – one for golf, one for stay & play:

Midweek green fees for July & August
€180 for a four-ball on Druids Glen
€120 for a four-ball on Druids Heath.

Stay & Play Packages
From €330 per person sharing. Includes:
2 nights bed & breakfast for 2 guests
Dinner for 2 on 1 evening
1 round of golf each on Druid’s Glen & Druid’s Heath

It’s also worth mentioning that Membership is available. Druid’s have a range of membership options available for both courses:

If you’ve read this far and you want to enter a little prize draw, I’m giving away a Druid’s Glen Course Guide (for when you stay or play!) and three Druid’s Glen branded Bridgestone balls.

Leave a Comment on the blog with your email address and a winner will be chosen on this day week (Tues 21 July).

  1. You could not offer a better place to stay at and play at in the country you have everything there at or on your door stop.

  2. Druid's Glen is amazing. Visited the hotel last year with my wife and kids during our holiday, but didn't bring my clubs. :-(
Am planning to play the course(s) on my next holiday to beautiful Ireland.
